Life Alone

Life Alone, Iceland

Under a dark and cloudy sky, a flower gives the impression of “Life Alone” on a plain in Iceland.
A country that has an otherworldly appearance in parts of the land.

Impressionistic Painting

Impressionistic Painting, Iceland

At times, it was easy to view Iceland as an “Impressionistic Painting”. A land still in formation.
Mountains, waterfalls, volcanos, glaciers, geysers and boiling mud pots and fumaroles (Hverir)
will inspire one to believe they are on an alien planet.

Godafoss Waterfall

Godafoss Waterfall

The Godafoss Waterfall is in northern Iceland. Godafoss is the english spelling.
“Goðafoss” is the Icelandic one.The letter “d” is written differently.
Also “Godafoss Waterfall” is redundant because a waterfall in Iceland is identified by “foss”.

Alien Planet

alien planet, Iceland, Hverarond

One does not have to leave Earth to visit an Alien Planet. I have been a student of astronomy and have dreamed about standing on a moon of Jupiter or some other planet. Not a candidate for the space program, plus the moon is the only place any humans have stood on, I’ve wanted to travel to destinations on Earth that resemble an alien planet. Antartica is one place but out of my price range. Iceland is not.
The above image was taken in the north, to the east of Lake Myvatn. The place is Hverarond. A geothermal spot noted for bubbling pools of mud and steaming fumaroles of sulfuric gas.
