The Breathing Earth

breathing earth

A photographer captures the breathing Earth. In Northern Iceland, adjacent to Lake Myvatn is Hverir.
It is a geothermal spot of bubbling pools of mud & steaming fumaroles emitting sulfuric gas.

Alien Planet

alien planet, Iceland, Hverarond

One does not have to leave Earth to visit an Alien Planet. I have been a student of astronomy and have dreamed about standing on a moon of Jupiter or some other planet. Not a candidate for the space program, plus the moon is the only place any humans have stood on, I’ve wanted to travel to destinations on Earth that resemble an alien planet. Antartica is one place but out of my price range. Iceland is not.
The above image was taken in the north, to the east of Lake Myvatn. The place is Hverarond. A geothermal spot noted for bubbling pools of mud and steaming fumaroles of sulfuric gas.
