On a recent visit to Aruba, and knowing the island was a former Dutch colony, I struck up a conversation with this man asking, “Does anyone speak Dutch?” He said, “Yes! I do. And we speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Papiamento, which is a combination of tongues.”
